Thung Wua Laen: A productive work day

With today being a rest day, it was great to have a late lie in after a good night's sleep. We worked for an hour or so before going out to look for breakfast. Nothing in the immediate vicinity of our digs tickled our fancy, so we cycled up to Ao Saphli, a village a few kilometers away, where we managed to pick up some pork satays with sticky rice, half a sweet melon, some fried bananas (pisang goreng), some khanom krok (sweet coconut tartlets) plus half a loaf of bread just to be safe.

Back at our digs, the rain came down for an hour or two. It didn't really matter as we spent the rest of the day getting some work done. At about four thirty we wrapped things up and went for a swim followed by a walk and finally supper on the beach at the same place we ate last night. Supper was also interrupted by rain so we finished it off at the plastic chair eatery that provided the food.

In between working I escaped outside to watch the waders feeding on the mudflats exposed by the low tide.
