Năm Căn to Ca Mau: Dodging showers

We woke up to the sound of rain bucketing down this morning so we didn't rush to get going. Besides, we were only going fifty kilometers north back to Cà Mau. After breakfast and settling our bill we loaded up the bikes and were on our way at about seven o'clock. It was still raining lightly but after about ten kilometers the sun broke through the clouds for a while. At the thirty three kilometers mark the heavens opened again and from that point on we leap-frogged our way to Cà Mau from shelter to shelter, most of the shelters being cà fê vòngs.

When we got to Cà Mau we first stopped off to get some cơm tấm for lunch and then headed to the Quoc Te Hotel, directly opposite where we had stayed a couple of days previously but much better value at almost half the price.

We dodged showers once again to get to supper - Bún đậu roll-your-own spring rolls.
