Kanchanaburi - The sixth step ... Back to SE Asia - CycleBlaze

Kanchanaburi

We headed back to the bridge again this morning.  It was pretty quiet so we had a chance to enjoy it without hordes of tourists.

Last time we were in Kanchanaburi we took one of these long-tailed boats for a trip along the river.

We then headed to the JEATH War Museum located right near the bridge.  Ironically, Leigh and I are both vehemently opposed to war (and human violence of any sort) but we seem drawn to war museums (and always end up depressed afterwards). All reports we had read on the internet suggested it isn't worth visiting but I think it gave us a new view on WWII from a Thai perspective.  However, it cannot be denied that organizationally it is a bit of a mess and could do with a good cleanup and restructuring.

Last call for the morning was the war cemetery.  Once again something we have visited before but it was worth another look.
