Pelicans, cranes, herons and the like
Like raptors, birds in this category are among the most satisfying to encounter and photograph because they're large, showy, easy to spot and identify, and often exhibit dramatic behavior. Multiple orders exist in this group, with birds having genetically different classifications seeming similar as a result of convergent evolution.
