Charadrii (waders)
Charidrii is one of three Suborders of the Order Charadriiformes (Shorebirds). Other suborders include gulls and auks, and will be broken out as their own entry.
The waders are typical shorebirds, most of which feed by probing in the mud or picking items off the surface in both coastal and freshwater environments. they include such birds as curlews, plovers, oystercatchers, avocets, ibises and the like.
