Another rainy day

As expected, today is a complete washout. The rains began a minute before I arrived home from yesterday's bike ride, and at the end of the day today it's still raining.

Not much is slated for the day, but I do have two items on my list. First, I drive Rachael over to a gym in Old Town so she can spend an hour on an exercise bike. While she's sweating away I take it easy at the aptly named Cafe Adagio, enjoying a scone and cup of coffee.

My second activity for the day was my weekly date with my phlebotomist. I did better this time and managed to schedule it at the site down in Fairhavejrather than five miles away. I got down there in plenty of time, passing part of it by stopping in again at the Blue Cafe for a scone and another cup of coffee.

So healthy! Rachael would be so proud of me.

That's about it though. Is there anything else to be said, other than that we sat around the hose most of the day and engaged in a bit of post-Bellingham planning? No, I don't think so. This about covers it.

Oh, wait. Two more things. First, I've been suffering from nosebleeds when I wake up in the morning for some reason. Well, actually I know the reason - it's one of the thousand or so listed potential side affects of prednisone, so I'll add it to my personal of perhaps a dozen or so . It could be worse - it's not nearly as serious as having a psychotic episode and landing in the hospital, and it only happens when I wake up, and only affects my right nostril. Hey - do you think it's a coincidence that it's on the same side as my bad eye?

It happens when I stand up abruptly, presumably from the rush of blood to my head. I'm trying to train myself to sit halfway up for a minute, something my leg cramps are helping me with - another side effect on my personal list.

The other thing is that we watched Noises Off last night, a film by Peter Bogdanovich and starring Michael Caine of a farce by the British playwright Michael Freyn. Which is funny, because it's an accident. I thought I was selecting Knives Out, starring Daniel Craig. And which is fine because we've never seen the film but did see the play down in Ashland about 20 years ago and laughed our heads off. Neither of us remembered a thing about the play though other than that the title sounded familiar. We had to look up the ledger of plays in Ashland to be sure we'd actually seen it there.

If anything, the film is even funnier than the staged version. It's really a riot, and one of the especially funny things tonight is that one of the recurring gag situations involves a character is prone to uncontrollable nosebleeds (made especially funny because he's played by Christopher Reeves, the man who played Superman for many years). It's really funny, and it's funny too that I laughed so hard that I got another nosebleed watching it.

Scott was kind enough to drop me off at a gym with alot of workout equipment that allow me to pay by the day to use the facilities. It was a great place. I chose to try out what they called the Cinema workout area. It had a variety of machines and I chose a bicycle that let you select how challenging a ride you wanted to take. There was a very large screen that played movies. The dialog and the music would cut in and out. As I was riding I took a few photos of the screen which are included below. It never showed the name of the video. The photos are included below. I’d be very grateful if someone could tell me the name of the movie or any of the actors!
