Trails to secondary roads

The day started with overcast skies again with a tails wind on the Racoon River Valley Trail for about 15th miles of a 58 mile ride. When the trail ended, was placed on a secondary paved road that was wide and very little traffic. Five cars in about 25 miles. I stopped for lunch at Chuck's Bar and Grill, In Coons Rapids, that was just opening at 10:30 a.m. There, I met Chuck, the owner and his wife, Jennifer and they are very proud of making the best food from scratch.
Steve came in and sat at the bar with me and started telling story after story. Chuck would interrupt once in a while to ask questions about Maine, or some other thing about my ride. Steve not to be deterred kept up is monologue. He had a mountain bike that he got for free and fixed up to ride around town. He told me he ran into a car door of a parked car when the driver opened it as he was passing. He said he got distracted and didn't pay attention. He plays a bass guitar and was in a rock group in the early days. Steve is 70 years old. Got to play with Lead Zephlyn. He's also partly into a gold mine that God lead him to. He really needed to tell his stories. I had to leave before he got into another string of stories.
I then left Coons Rapids and started riding 30 miles of gravel roads over hill after hill after hill until I got to my digs for the night in Audubon, IA
Today's ride: 58 miles (93 km)
Total: 2,373 miles (3,819 km)
