Wade's best side, traveling the Cowboy Trail

Corn is finally tassling out. Harvest in a couple of weeks, but I'll be long gone from the area.

Good weather, level ground, good trail for while, but slower than we wanted for a 75mile ride, so we shifted to the highway. I've got pics that Travis took, but I have to figure out how to upload.

... Connect early today with Chris, from England, who has exactly the same agenda as we do until Chadron, NE. We've been touching bases with him all day and we'll continue being in touch if not riding together for parts of our ride.

Travis has his cycling legs now, so I see him only at rest stops. No problem. I like riding my own pace with feeling like I have to keep up.

Thanks to Chris for following me in to O'Neill. I need the insentive to finish the last 10 miles with a slight head/cross wind.

This is Chris, from England. He rode his bike to this place, about 50 miles from Norfolk only to break several spokes on his wheel. He hitched a ride back to Norfolk to get his wheel fixed at the only bike shop on the trail. He started today with Travis and I and we've been pals since.

The highway shoulder was not without it's faults. Notice the expansion joints. (Thump-thump, thump-thump.),, but we were able to move along much faster considering we had a 70+ miler today.
