Day 45, Davenport, IA to Cedar Rapids, IA

Roads and a beautiful Cedar River trail into Cedar Rapids

My intent today, was to ride 70+ miles to get to my friends' house in Cedar River.  On the way, I rode strate highways with minimal traffic for about 35 miles and then 3 miles of gravel which turned into a paved road the ended in Solon, IA.  From there, was all brand new trail all the way into Cedar Rapids.

Leaving my hotel on outskirts of Davenport, IA, I was introduced to the essence of Iowa.

After riding the Cedar River Nature trail for 20 miles, I caught a glimpse of Cedar Rapids.

I ended the ride at Mike and Sandy Rochford's house, where we told story after story, and that was before my shower.  I plan to stay at their house for at least two days, to recover and plan the next couple of weeks.
