It's getting late, and I have a 70+ miler tomorrow. ....time for zzzzzzzzzzz....
OK, It's a couple of days later. I rode the Canal Tow Path into Moline, IL and found my way onto the Mississippi River trail on the Illinois side.
I stopped and talked with another cross country rider who was traveling on the same route I am going. Mike was his name, and we shared some adventure stories before getting on the way.
I then hopped on the ferry to the other side of the river to Bettendorf, IA to find a bike shop to see if they had a chain that I could replace mine with. Barb, 91 year-old wife of the cofounder of Jerry and Sparky's Bike shop founded in 1966. Jerry had passed away, but is son, Jerry, and Tom gave my bike a onceover and some advice to check at a bike shop in Cedar Rapids.
It's always fun to stop at Bike Shops and meet the owners and mechanics and costomers. One Story after the other...
Today's ride: 34 miles (55 km)
Total: 2,016 miles (3,244 km)
