Day 40, Rochester, IN to Crown Point, IN
mostly farm roads with 8 miles of trail
From Rochester, I could not find place to stay along my route less than 83 miles away. I hadn't ridden that far in a year, at least. But I'm in pretty good shape since I've ridden several 60+ rides. So I did ride the 63 miles to Crown Point, IN
I met absolutely know one on the route since it was mostly farm roads, so I was my own friend. I'm fine with that. I did talk with a good friend on the phone during the ride on the 8 mile trail I did ride on. We talked the whole trail ride and I don't remember the ride at all. Noel Rodakowski is that friend. He was my room mate in Belvidere, IL for a few years before I got married. We chatted as though we had never been apart. He is going to drive down south and meet me some place along my route.
Tomorrow, I will enter Illinois and get to Joliet where my sister, Ella, will meet me at a hotel. More about that tomorrow.
