Day 38, Muncie, IN to Marion, IN

Brunch with my brother, Bill, afternoon ride on the Cardinal trail and farm roads

It was nice taking my time getting up and ready to ride at the Days Inn in Muncie, IN.  My brother, Bill was driving over to Muncie from Indianapolis to have Brunch at a closeby IHOP restaurant.

I was more than brunch.  We sat for two and a half hours and just talked and talked.  It was just enjoyable to be together again.  Bill is closest in age to me in our family, so we have similar memories, but his memory of our growing up is much better than mine.

While we were at IHOP, we had a genuinely delightful youn server, Kalie, who voluntarily kept bringing us water long after we were done eating and had paid the check.  It's always a pleasure meet young people who are so capable while too many people think this younger generation is so incapable.

From IHOP, I rode 36 miles in just over 4 hours.  That means that the surface was mostly flat and there was little wind.

This route is on farm roads that only go west and north. No diagonals. The farm lands are divided mostly into 1 mile squares.

Corn on the right and soy beans on the left. This will be this way all the way through Illinois, and Iowa. The great plains.

I finished the ride off on the Cardinal Greenway Trail. This is the last of many trailheads to this trail. Each had a map, portapotty, bike stands, bike maintenance stand, bench, etc. I thought Ohio had the model trail, but this trail was the best, so far.
