mostly just trail riding and talking with other riders along the way

This is Gary, the nice guy who drove me and my bike/gear to the road above so I could start my ride on a nice downward slope. I made a new friend this day.

"If you build it, they will come." The days ride was almost all rail-to-trail shared with many Amish on bikes, and horse and buggy.

It always bothers me that we honor things like trails by naming them for Indian tribes or whatever, but the white settlers pushed them out. Discussion for another time. I road mostly on the Kokosing (Ko-ko'-sing)Trail.

I'm staying at the Confort Inn tonight after two nights of camping. It's only a few blocks away from down town Mount Vernon. Every first Friday of the month in the summer, they close off Maine Street and have a market/festival. This time it was Thursday, because the first Friday is the 4th of July and they do other stuff to celebrate that day.
