Day 27, Layover in Pittsburgh
Took care of business
- Breakfast
- figured out how I was going to get across the Ohio River, which is the West Virginia/Ohio border. I'll be riding the Panhandle Trail, named because it crosses and finishes in the Panhandle of West Virginia. Anyway the bridge across the Ohio River is closed and meant adding 20 miles to the ride. I got it worked out to get a shuttle across the highway bridge, which is not safe for cyclists. TMI?
- bike shop to get my rear tire replaced. (showing extreme ware and was losing air slowly.
- Met with Ger for lunch since we had a mixup on hotels. We ended up staying in different Holiday Inn Expersses.
- Ger and I parted ways since I was taking a layover day. We'll stay in touch and may meet up a long the route.
- worked on camping/lodging for the next two nights. Looks like more rain but not steady.
- Bedtime is approaching fast. ....early rise to get ahead of the heat and rain tomorrow.
- Next stop .... West Virginia camping in a Warm Shower host back yard.
