In Sintra

I cooked some eggs for breakfast, and then headed out. I took the pedestrian path up to the Moorish Castle. Emphasis on "up". It's 1.6 km up an old, well maintained path that goes past Villa Sassetti, which is a house that was finished in 1894 and can be seen from the outside, and past a rock climbing area with rated routes and visible hardware in the rocks. It's a pretty hike with lots of interesting water features and old structures. There is even a WC half way up.

I walked around the Moorish castle, but didn't go in. My landlady (if that's the right name) had said it was just rocks and that she would skip it.

A resting place on the trail to the castle.

Old bones were unearthed, and no one knew whether they were Christian or Muslim.
