Sat Nov 10 - Off to George

FINALLY GOOD WIFI SO MY BLOG IS UP TO DATE AS OF TODAY.

We drove for 50km because the only way out of town was on the main highway.  After the short drive we started our ride through to George.  Today was the first day we had to deal with pavement and dirt roads. Some of the dirt roads were very bumpy leading to some interesting challenges.  The countryside was mostly pastoral until we returned to the coast.  We stayed at a lovely guest house and walked to a local restaurant for dinner.  I have not had a bad meal yet.

We spotted these yellow birds going into the nest from the bottom. Apparently it is a southern masked weaver bird.

Bill ShaneyfeltTo Steve Miller/GrampiesMy guess would be... some kind of weaver bird... :-) There are lots of species down there. And they look so much alike!

The group cruising down the road. There was no traffic on the dirt road so we took it all.

We have nicknamed her Frau Kuchen (Mrs Cake) because she has chocolate cake every day and sometimes it is her lunch.
