Day 0- arrival in Ljubljana
Ljubljana
Dober Dan from Slovenia! We got a shuttle from Trieste to Ljubljana Slovenia and we start a 7 day tour from there to Piran - Alps To Adriatic tour. There will be some gravel. We’ve never been to Slovenia so we are excited to check out this country.
Arrival day Brody put our bikes together and did some needed repairs and replaced all of our brake pads which were worn out from the last 2 tours. We checkled out several bike stores of course looking for parts and we had an amazing dinner at a brewery.
First Impressions of Slovenia:
They have breweries!
Everyone seems to bike commute and bike lanes and bike infrastructure are dominate. Every building seemed to have ginormous bike racks.
The words seem very foreign with lots of K,J,H,V etc. I can’t even imagine how to pronounce it and my Latin knowledge is no help whatsoever in guessing what it might mean.
Everyone seems to speak at least four languages, if not 8 or more and are very fluent in English.
No bidets and the standard bedding is lacking too sheets as they just use the comforter.
Still no garbage anywhere in streets.
They have ice! We actually saw ice cubes in a glass when we ordered a cold soda.
Modern music from US plays everywhere and it seems quite modern.
