If you look close there is a woman who just landed. The faux grass is wetted down for sliding.

We had an amazing breakfast buffet and left Bled happy and full. We followed the Radovna River for many miles and just marveled at the clarity of the water.

We hit some very steep climbs over 16% but the views were amazing. We met a trail runner from South Africa who was just with a 2 lb pack and didn’t seem too worried if he got lost and had to turn around. The mountains are so beautiful they just beg you to stop and soak them in.

We rode up the Vrata Valley into Triglavska national park. We saw a beautiful double waterfall and then the road hit 25% grade. I admit I walked a bit but Brody made it to the top of at least the next climb! I rode some more but turned around after a bit further and went and hiked up and behind the waterfall. Brody continued up and up on the road that leads to Triglav mountain base camp.  Triglav is Slovenias tallest mountain.

We then followed the Sava Dolinka river valley. The views of the Julien alps were spectacular. We climbed to the Planica Nordic Center and ski jump center! We were standing there taking it in when we heard a weird sound and finally realized : it was a summer badass skier ! We also went briefly into a nature reserve which was lovely . Kranjska Gora is a ski resort town that is struggling with climate change. It’s about the height of Snoaqualmie Pass and just not getting much snow the last few years. That being said, they’re transitioning to biking and we counted more bike stores than bars! Many people rent bikes and ride the bike trails which are so impressive.

The road here was very quiet and all you could hear was crickets and running streams.

This made me so excited and curious! Would we see frogs galore all over the path? It was more like potential deer crossings
