RT 66 Day 45-Easy Breezy Ride to the Windy City (well, almost there)

Day 45 was an easy stroll down beautiful rails-to-trails bike paths. Now just 25 miles from Chicago, Grant Park and the RT 66 start sign.

Though it was cold with a stiff north headwind, today’s ride was a joy due to the scenery and 30+ miles of dedicated bike paths.

We rolled through several picture perfect towns including Frankfort and Chicago Heights.

The paths were well marked and well maintained.

The rails-to-trails paths provided a canopy that helped block much of the cold north wind.

You know you’re close to Chicago when you cross over I-80. Now we just have to get on the other side of I-90 to put this ride to bed. Piece of cake.
