Cuzy sur l'Ognon

Last night cost 50E which I think was very good value- a good breakfast with a massive coffee. The owner was interested in all things pertaining to bikes so the GPS was a draw. We set off qnd followed lovely quiet roads with hardly any vehicles. The settlements were tiny - no chance of a coffee until we got to Gy where there was an excellent bar. The town itself looked rather sad, there was a massive supermarket on the outskirts so lots of little shops seemed to be closing down. We had made the decision to go to Cuzy and it was a good one. Tricia had rung ahead for accommodation when we had stopped to eat our pears.

Out of Gy was a massive hill that went on and on. Had lunch at a false summit, all in all the hill went on for about 12km. Eventually we emerged from the forest into farmland and finally got to Cuzy where the B and B turned out to be a hotel and very good it was to with a spacious cool room.

My bike had various mysterious clicks one in the rear wheel and one in time with the pedal rotation under load. I searched but found nothing so the plan was to find a bike shop in Besancon which we would reach early the next day. We are at the end of our first guide book so will also do a mail back
