Day 15: Columbus to Millersburg

Cherry on Top

This morning, I was very refreshed after cleaning and drying pretty much everything. The one thing that needed some attention was my chain. The rain wiped everything off of it. I should have grabbed a photo, but there was some visible rust. I waxed it real good and got on my way. The sun had decided to make its presence known, and it was a beautiful day to ride. I got out of Columbus quite quickly and made good time on the Ohio to Erie. Honestly, nothing super notable happened. I met a couple of bikers, talked to some friends on the phone, and pedaled my miles. By Dinnertime, I stopped in Kilbuck, where I initially wanted to stop for the night.

The only restaurant in town was a carryout pizza place.

I didn’t stay there though, as there was no campgrounds, and I didn’t really feel like camping on the side of the road. I kept going to Millersburg to get a camp site, but there was an absolutely massive hill.

At least the view was nice

I finally got to my campground, where I got a cabin since it wasn’t much of an upcharge over a tent spot.

Well, I guess that’s why it wasn’t much of an upcharge.

Steve Miller/GrampiesWe always say about even a small hotel room - Well it's dry and bigger than a tent. Looks like those happy thoughts apply to your cabin also.

Oh well. At least I’m in my own spot. Time to hit the hay. I’ve got a Warmshowers host tomorrow!

Today's ride: 84 miles (135 km)
Total: 855 miles (1,376 km)
