Hi, this is Rhonda. Don’t you hate it when someone says, “ do you want the good news or the bad news first?” Well, the good news is, we are safe, have contented full bellies and are camped in Coburg, our intended destination. The really good news is, we were treated to a great evening with our Warm Shower hosts last night, slept well and got on the road with a bag of cookies and brownies from Curt. Today’s roads were beautiful, serene and relatively calm all day. We made our way to Corvallis by just before noon. As usual, I was hungry. So we checked out the area where the restaurants were, to find it very peopley. With construction, Saturday markets, protests organizing and just those hanging out by the river, we decided to make our way down the road. We saw a sign for the Peoria Farmers Market and went there instead. We got fresh peaches this time ate some jerky and a bar. The flowers were so pretty but Jon said “no” to me trying to get him to carry a hanging plant🤣! JK

Then after lunch I hit the skids. I ate some cookies, bought some sweet tarts (I think because I really liked them as a kid) but I was losing energy fast. The lovely tailwind should have made it a piece of cake but I hurt. It started with thinking about everything on my body that kind-of ached… Really a bad place to start. I worked my way down to the most obvious sign of pain, my butt. It takes a couple of days to toughen up or to start feeling the abuse. Well, today was that day! I packed the appropriate treatment, Bag Balm and Desitin, and I am praying the 60ish miles we have to go tomorrow will be comfortable. All in all, fatigue has come to visit also and I am headed to the tent to prepare for a great day tomorrow.

PS found out yesterday evening that Mackenzie Pass opens on Monday, as they just got the snow cleared! We will be headed up that pass on Monday. So, we are praying for the energy to ride well that day. Then a well deserved rest day in Sisters the following day 🎉

63 miles 1421’

Today's ride: 63 miles (101 km)
Total: 226 miles (364 km)

Laura SeiditaTake good care of your butt, Sis. Hoping it feels better tomorrow.

I'm breaking in a new Brooks saddle so can definitely sympathize with not all being well in the backside right now :-)
