After a cold, rainy, windy day yesterday, we rolled into town to find it pretty rolled up. We did find our new favorite restaurant on this trip so far! AJ Corner Brick restaurant and bar is the best. Let’s just say as we departed after our third meal there, the waitress, maybe the boss, told us her name and wished us well. We promptly said, we are planning on coming back to ski ☺️. Our motel is quiet, quaint and the quintessential mid century modern era motor inn. Nicely remodeled with a helpful staff and a great washing machine!

As many small towns businesses are closed on Mondays, the shops we wanted to visit and most restaurants were closed. It was such a beautiful day, we took off on foot and found everything we needed at Ace Hardware and Albertsons. Because it was a rest day, (I guess in cycling lingo-a zero day, for 0 miles ridden), we spent time repacking our bags, sleeping, catching up on some YouTube shows, reading and talking to friends. We worked on reservations for the next week for camping and modifying our route slightly. All in all, we have adapted to the adventure…. The important things are: where are we going to eat and where are we going to sleep each night. The rest just seems to take care of itself. What we have relearned is don’t pass up a bathroom, (mostly me), don’t pass up a chance to buy food or get water. Look around when possible because the scenery is amazing and my saying is, “we don’t ever have to climb that hill again”, except we have done Old Whitebird Hill once many years ago 🤪. It is coming up again this week.

We are ready to be moving again. It is amazing how much rest is needed and how quickly we can rejuvenate to be good to go. On to more adventures tomorrow…
