D -2. Packing Up and a shuttle
Hitching a ride to the coast.
No more wake ups. The day has arrived. The plans have been made and revised over the last six months. We have packed, unpacked and repacked.
This morning we got a ride to Bryan and Cindi’s house where the bikes were loaded and our gear stored. We hit the road and headed west, towards the heat. The trucks thermometer reached 108 but the local forecast only registers a balmy 93.
After 5 hours we reached Oregon’s Memaloose State Park just west of The Dalles. We are hoping the famed Columbia Gorge breeze will keep us cool.
