Day 7b Excited to Do Laundry🤔

First order of business: use the coin operated washer and dryer at motel. Sounds easy, but it wasn’t. We were so excited to have a laundry option at the motel and not to spend time riding our bikes to a laundromat to get clean clothes. Here’s how it went: put required quarters in machine and set the washer to permanent press, it had an agitator so I was being careful. Return in the allotted time to transfer the clothes to the dryer or hopefully hang them up to dry. Open washer to find clothes on top with dry spots, and the clothes on the bottom sitting in dirty, half drained water. A trip to the office was a waste, so I returned to wring out all clothes and put them in the dryer to hopefully get some of the water out. Keep checking on clothes in dryer, no progress. So after 40 minutes of this waste of quarters, pull out the clothes and haul them back to the room. They now ALL have the dirty water smell and I proceeded to wring them out a second time. Good thing it was a lovely day and we could string them up outside. It truly would have been better to put them in the bathtub and thrown the laundry pod in there and used the motels towels to wring them dry. Might even smell clean!!!

Rest days are good for all your sore parts too! I am feeling better and Jon suffered also, but we are ready to roll tomorrow. Here’s my latest ailment, the mosquitoes attacked me yesterday. Quickly, I got out the bug spray and sprayed all exposed skin. I didn’t get any bites there, but they ate through my jersey and shorts. Yikes, a new itchy problem for my backside!

Laura SeiditaYikes - that was quite the laundry "adventure" a la Murphy's Law! Makes riding to the laundromat and hanging out look pretty good 😜
