restday: day trip to Vardzia
The Tourist Hotel arranged a taxi to take us to Vardzia. We had been trying to decide whether to cycle there or arrange to taxi us and gear up and cycle back (as other cyclists have done). Once on the road, we were happy to be in a taxi, the Georgian drivers are not as cautious as drivers in Turkey and the road is curvy and climbing with no shoulder. The scenery is great!
