day two in Jaipur: Amber Fort solo

Rachel is not feeling well this morning, many trips to the bathroom overnight and feeling nauseous.... Since we bought the two-day combination tickets, plus arranged a tuktuk tour to the Amber Fort, Patrick heads out solo. Since Rachel does most if not all of the writing there won't be much text today, just the photos.

First stop is at the Royal Gaitor. The white marble carved Cenotaph's are beautiful in the morning light.

A tourist hot spot. Bus loads of foreigners are shuttled up the steep "drive way" by a caravan of elephants.

For everybody else there are the stairs. Actually, for me the most impressive part of the fort is the outside and its majestic setting. The inside of the fort is huge, but does not compare to the palace we saw in Udaipur.

Richly decorated entrance, probably the prettiest part of the fort.

An elephant trafic jam. I am amazed the Indians are able to drive elephants since they do not come with a horn...... So this is a quiet traffic jam.
