Day 117: Rest Day in Harrington on the beach

A rainy rest day

The guest bed in Richard and Susan’s house must be the most comfortable we have slept in since the start of the trip. We hear the rain that was forecast overnight and today and when we wake see a thick fog covering the forest. A great day for a restday.

We enjoy coffee and watch two deer make their way through the garden. After breakfast Richard takes us to visit Ray, a friend who has a wood working shop and studio and sells some beautiful work. Ray has a very nice collection of old hand planes and some amazing slabs of wood in his shed. Patrick is missing his workshop.

On the way back we stop at a fish shop right at the bay where we buy fish for tonight and clam chowder and smoked mussels for lunch. At the grocery store we get some supplies for tomorrow.
