Day 10: Rest Day in Essaouira

Sightseeing

A lazy day of sightseeing, intermittent rest, and eating. Patrick purchased the bus tickets to Marrakech soon after arriving yesterday. Also, Rachel did laundry yesterday, and finished drying on the roof today.

After breakfast provided with the room, we walked back to the harbor to see the morning activity. Then returned to our room to rest. It's easier to take all the interesting sights a little at a time.

Does anyone know what the fish is on the lower left?

We found the synagogue after circling the alleyways several times and even using the GPS on the tablet.

We eat a pita falafel

This is the room for the women, says the man who let us in the synagogue.

Walking in the Mellah area, we are aiming for the cemetery, but the rain threatens, and Patrick is without a coat.

We continued our walk through the Mellah area

We return back into the Medina

Baby chicks for sale

It's difficult to get pictures of women, so there isn't a clear picture of women smashing almonds into butter. Some use a mechanical way, that's the metal funnel in the far left.

Olives are very prevalent in dishes and as appetizers

The cats are waiting to be fed
