Wow!  What a start to our adventure. Thanks so much to Julie, Jeff, Owen, and Skylar and John and Adam, and my wonderful wife Michele for all coming ( and driving us) to Seaside Oregon to see us off. We of course put our feet and rear wheels in the Pacific and then began the trek south to Cape Lookout State Park.

Along the way we saw some beautiful scenery, some fun places and things, and met cool people.

Starting with the scenery- Haystack Rock, the whole Coast, and the view from our campsite. places and things- Grumpy’s in Rockaway Beach (a nod to my Dad) and railroad bikes 😳. Finally people, lots of good conversations. I met a long lost cousin (not really) named Jaimie Gordon who invited me to his daughter’s wedding in I can make it to  Charlotte, NC by June 15th and Ken from Portland (a cyclist from Portland) who was camping next to our site.

PB and J for dinner and then some sleep. Up early tomorrow for a long day heading to the Bare Family Farm.

Today's ride: 60 miles (97 km)
Total: 4,507 miles (7,253 km)
