Getting home
In the circumstance is a pretty successful journey back. Up early and a long breakfast chatting to all my friends new and old. Anne had arranged a van transfer for five of us with four bikes and we had a huge mini bus that took everything without any problem. The flight was not until 1230 and I had a bit of a weight for the check-in. Due to the challenges I had on the way out. I decided to book the assistance service, and that was absolutely fantastic particularly getting through security without having to do all the fiddly things with bag, zips, and buckles.
The flight left on time and arrived early and my friend Steve had gone beyond the call of duty to drive to Gatwick on a busy summer's Friday to collect me and drive me home via Gary's house to collect my car.
Home safely. A wonderful trip with a truly great bunch of people, and memorable for all the right reasons. Apart from one puncture, the bike was perfect, the Di2 gears did not need charging, and the Garmin navigation and route planning was completely faultless. Only minor issue is my middle finger on the right hand is still slightly painful with what I think was probably a break but nothing you can do about a broken finger. Just need to set the pedals up better I think and avoid falling off!
