Spectacular day! Beautiful blue skies with white mountains in the distance. Just a fabulous day riding along. We said goodbye to Saluzzo although we stopped and saw a really wonderful cathedral on the way out. The paintings made the interior architecture look three dimensional although it was not, we were so impressed. Not being in a rush, we stopped for a treat in the morning before the climb. This was a cat 2 climb and while not as long as yesterday it so steep hitting over 14% grade. The view at the top was stunning so that’s always a well earned bonus. The downhill was full of twisty hairpins and just incredible.

It was generally lovely although road conditions were rough in places but it was still a pleasant day riding.
Our hotel was at the top of another steep climb and my legs definitely protested. Still, very happy and we earned that gelato!
Today's ride: 50 miles (80 km)
Total: 318 miles (512 km)
