White Sands National Monument

Today … we cycled on the moon!

White Sands National Monument lies about 50 miles east of Las Cruces, New Mexico and is unique and amazing place to cycle. The actual ride is a 16 mile out and back but about 5 miles in you enter the white sand dunes and the world just changes all around you.

The dunes are simply a ride one does not want to miss. We had temperatures in the 50’s and little to no wind. We also spent some time wandering around the dunes and just marveling at the sculpture the wind causes as it blows across the sand.

We really can recommend this ride highly and a must do for all cyclists. A bit out of the way but well worth the the effort for such a reward.
