Virgin River Trail

State #43 …

As we were so close after yesterday’s ride, we opted to head north and check Utah off our 50 state quest.

Sunny skies … 43 degrees

We realized going in this was probably going to be a one day ride and the Virgin River Trail in St. George fit the bill nicely. The trail is the main corridor of the bike path system in the area and we found it to be a nice followup after yesterday’s lengthy climbs.

To the credit of community, the path was in good condition, clear of debris despite all the recent rains and quite well used by walkers and other cyclists. We did see 2 other recumbent trikes which is always a treat for us. We also added the Cottonwash Trail side extension which was a treat despite some quite steep rollers mixed in.

Believe this area could be more fully cycled if one had a few more days but the weather looks like heading west and then south will get us to even nicer weather over the next few days … as we started this morning only after the temperature climbed above 40 degrees.
