Arkansas River Trail, AR

Today we headed northward towards Little Rock and the Arkansas River Trail. The trail has both a north and south section being divided by the river. I would not truly refer to this as a rail trail but more an urban cycling path.

We started at the Clinton Presidential Library which was mostly deserted. Somewhat sad given the $165 million dollar price tag but I found out every president gets one to preserve all communications while in office though there is some leeway about how much focus is placed on various aspects.

At that point we crossed a nice pedestrian / cycling bridge to get on the north side of the river and rode upriver. The path was mostly good despite a few sections I wouldn’t ride at night as in all cities. Once out of the city proper, the path was quite pleasant crossing the river on bridges two more times before coming to a park where we rode around a bit, took a break to watch some fishermen and turning back to the van 14 miles away.
