Final Thoughts and Future Plans

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." (George Santayana) "I've got news for Mr. Santayana: we're doomed to repeat the past no matter what. That's what it is to be alive.” ― Kurt Vonnegut

There is always next year

Well, the dreaded stationary front and continual rainy days meant we only managed 48 miles of a planned 200 mile ride and one day out of four. Rick and I will be part of a larger groups that will do several days of riding on the Pennsylvania Great Allegheny Passage trail in early August, but we will also try this OH adventure again next year.

We could decide next year to be real men/real cyclists and ride no matter what the weather.

Nah.

We might look at extending the northern end over to Conneaut OH and not repeating the Sunbury to Columbus segment, but there is something attractive about cycling all the way back to the start at Rick and Maggie's house. Since our ultimate destination is Xenia, we could also explore a more southern trip. Over the next year, Rick will do more road cycling and we may be do more of a trail road loop from Columbus - many hours of fun research and planning to come for the 2019 trek.
