Toronto Rest Day Redux

As in Montreal and Ottawa, we planned to hit the local market and, notably, the St Lawrence Market. Along the way, some street shots and breakfast!

The former Toronto Dominion Bank, now a historic landmark.

A fountain for dog lovers.

And an impressive street wall not far away, seen on the way to the market.

And finally, arrival at the St Lawrence Market.

Lots of beautiful flowers . . . 'tis the season.

The interior . . . the oldest part of the building dates to 1845, but I suspect this part is the 1902 construction.

Lots here to make you hungry . . .

And some type of prepared food bar.

That was colorful. Next stop, Toronto's Union Station.

Along the way, I caught this dramatic picture of the CN Tower. It was getting cloudy, but no rain came.

The Great Hall and main ticket lobby.

After that, we just wandered the city, making our way back to the hotel.

Lots of streetcars in Toronto. Unlike most places I've visited, though, I rode neither of these nor the subway while here.

The plaza in front of the new City Hall (and across the street from the old, which can be seen in the background). The elevated walkways are vintage 1960s urban planning.

The Toronto Sign . . . I guess every city needs one! The new City Hall is the two towers behind.

Well, it was trying to stay out (of the sun, that is). Yonge-Dundas Square, Toronto's closest thing to Times Square, I guess.

I have to admit, Toronto has some amazing architecture. This is the Ryerson University Student Learning Centre.

And we had a great dinner at Bapbo Korean Restaurant. And, no, . . .

. . . I don't recall the names of any of this, but it was all good!
