The Hudson River Valley beckons . . . as its reputation for great cycling is well-known. Because there is no established bike trail through the valley, I did a considerable amount of research to find a good route. Well, there are many, many options out there. There are, of course, the officially designated routes, but those are typically along busy highways with wide shoulders. Not very scenic. But there are plenty of club rides out there and websites set up by dedicated cyclists that can give you many route options . . . almost too many! So I hobbled this together from several, with one focus being the crossing at Poughkeepsie. So, the route:
