Day 9: Carter Creek Campground to Seattle

We got up early to beat the heat, but we only made it as far as Issaquah before lunch. We splurged on some fresh fruit, vegetables, hummus, and limeade, all of which were heavenly. So much for limiting our shopping trips. Hunger is a fierce and demanding beast.

As territory became more and more familiar, my discipline lapsed. Just like last Saturday, I started thinking that this was just another day ride. I pushed myself too hard and didn't consider the effects of the baggage I was carrying. It was a busy day for cycling in Seattle, and it was important for us to stay on our toes. Luckily there were no incidents or close calls.

We arrived home, chucked all the very stinky clothes in the washer, and took a long shower. We almost feel like civilized humans again.

Today's ride: 59 miles (95 km)
Total: 487 miles (784 km)
