Rotorua rest day: Sort of

A rest day on an NZ bike trip is a relative term. We opted for a mountain bike ride in the red wood forest for 2hrs this hours morning. The forest has over 150km of mountain biking trails rated 1-5, easy to hard. We did mostly level 3 which was easy for our guide Sue and Patti but a bit of a stretch for me. In the end I survived 10km while the others did 14km. One thing I have learned about mountain biking is that you don't have to go very far to have a good workout. Once back in town we just wandered around because I have been here on 3 previous occasions and didn't need to do the tourist thing.

Sunrise on Lake Rotorua.

Me descending a small dip in the trail. Don't look to closely or you will see how terrified I am.
