Ticonderoga to Glens Falls

Variety of roads again

56 miles

Long day! The first 35 miles were great. New York State deserves kudos for creating a fine biking road - great shoulders, great paving, well designed roads with wide shoulders and clear markings, great views!

This is one of our favorite signs. It makes it clear where we are. The Empire State Trail, NY Bike Route 9, and a biking lane

. Another favorite-we are at the top of a hill as the passing Lane ends.

The section from White Hall to Fort Anne not so good. Heavy traffic, poor quality pavement, tiny shoulders. And finally a little confusion around the canal trail between Hudson Falls and Glenn's Falls. But we made it to the hotel then had to wait two hours for our rooms. We finally got them at 6. Phew - a long day including a birthday dinner for Hope!

Today's ride: 56 miles (90 km)
Total: 188 miles (303 km)
