Day 6 of week 3 on TEMBR:

San Juan (10600 pies) a Guamote (10,000 pies) after a high of 12,000.

A great place to rest after that windy, sandy night at Chimbarazo

These colorful fields intrigued me before I realized that they were Quinoa farms. I was astonished to find that Quinoa takes one year to harvest..:-(

Then rode past these beautiful white-flowered farm without knowing what they were. Later that night in Guamote I found out that these were Manzanilla or Chamomile plants..:-)

For some reason this abandoned house intrigued me..

We stayed in a hotel across this HUGE mercado in Guamote
