Day 5-TEMBR
Day -5 on TEMBR:
La Merced del Buenos Aires (7400 ft) to Camping spot #2 in Pinan Paramo (12800 ft)
Majado con Verde platanos for breakfast at the same place where we had lunch previous day. Dona was kind enough to cook the oca's for us for dinner.
Ride started with a great suvida and then bahada. That was day's theme. Suvida and bahada. We were supposed to go from some 740 to 12800 but it was the toughest day as any elevation we gained would be lost in the next turn or minutes. I walked my bike a lot today. Trail was barely rideable and Brian in true spirit rode most of it. Bikes gained a lot of weight as the black sticky mud stuck allover and then llantas lost all traction.
We got to first "camping" spot but that would have been a detour next day. I still had some energia left in me so we discussed and pushed on for next camping spot.
Landscape was out of this world. It looks alot like Lord of the rings or Lake district? We only did some 15 miles but that really wiped me out.
