Miltenberg - A Miraculous Tour Around France and Germany - CycleBlaze

Miltenberg

Technical problems The screen on my iPad seems to be on its last legs and now it won't pair with my keyboard. So here goes

We walked back into the town last night and had such fun over dinner at what seemed to be a local pub. It was a place that seemed to have no Tourists and we had a cheap and lovely meal, too big as all German meals seem to be. Ken had liver loaf with fried eggs and fried potatoes while I had vegetarian baked potatoes with spinach and feta cheese. And this was washed down by dark local beer

Selingenstadt is an unusual little town. The centre is beautiful and full of ice cafes, tourist shops, other cafes etc. In fact everything you expect in a tourist town and when we arrived it was teeming with people. When we walked back for dinner it was empty, everything shut and we even had problems finding somewhere to eat. The answer to this is that it is a day time tourist town. It is so close to Frankfurt it seems as if people just drive out there for the day then go back to Frankfurt. I had only been able to find one reasonably convenient hotel, it was full but when we went down to breakfast we appeared to be the only ones on holiday the rest of the people, all men, appeared to be work men

It was straight back on to the track. It was a pleasant but unspectacular ride with both the signage and the track excellent. The neat little towns that we went into lacked the whoo factor but we did get a cup of coffee in one. However Milenberg when we got to it certainly had the whoo factor, it is crammed full of old pretty buildings. Crammed full of people it was too. I think there must have been a number of boats tied up as there were lines of people obediently following their guides around. The cafes too seemed to be full. Our hotel when we found it is something of a disappointment as our room is up three flights of narrow spiral stairs one has no hot water. I have got here but think I will stay put as my knees have been playing up rather today

A lot of fun
