Whitefish - The Bicycle Station
At Karo's suggestion, I wrote a plan of where I'd aim to get to each day so I don't get to Banff / Canmore too soon.
Today's goal was Tuchuck CG, about 95k from Whitefish, and after the final 2 climbs in USA. I hoped that would be the almost last HAB until Canada.
The first 15k alongside Whitefish Lake was easy, scenic and cool. The trail turned into the forrest, and there were more lakes: Upper Whitefish and Red Meadow, with many, many trees between.

Red Meadow Creek Road turned into a HAB until I reached the Divide.
A passing motorist asked for my advice on weither he should take this road to Whitefish, as the main road was closed for works. I may have over emphasized how narrow it was, without space to turnaround. Better for bikers to have no cars!
The road got rough, then rougher as it started the final climb. While the profile looked similar to the Red Meadows climb, it turned out to be fully rideable, and through recently burnt trees.
I arrived at Tuchuck CG to find it deserted, which surprised me as Ray and Kurt had messaged to say it was nice for their stay the previous night. I selected a site, and 2 things happened: the mosquito swam attacked, and an ATV cruised through the CG. There were big puddles in the road and I could almost hear the mozzie larvae splashing about like small fish.
I checked the route, noted there was less than 10k to the highest point, followed by 20k downhill, some on pavement, to The Bicycle Station. Decision made!
So my planned 95k turned into 130k and I had a mosquito free evening with 4 SoBo bikers at this great little bikers hostel.
Today's ride: 132 km (82 miles)
Total: 4,238 km (2,632 miles)
