White Signal - Silver City - Pinos Altos
An early right turn off the pavement after White Signal showed up a difference in the nav files Karo and I have - mine said right, Karo's said straight on up the hill. We went right onto the County road for 5 hours of washboard hell in a huge loop to Silver City (29km on paper, but 35 IRL)

Along the way Karo spotted an abandoned cycle helmet with a 'da-brim' attached by cable ties. In the process of removing the da-brim she sliced her finger and there was a lot of blood on the road. We bound it up and kept riding but she confessed to then worrying about sepsis setting in during our next 5 days in very remote country!
Silver City gave us a nice lunch, pharmacy supplies for Kavos finger and food for the 5 days thru the Gila National forest to Pie Town (about 450k).
Heading out of town on paved road in the heat of the afternoon soon became very hard for me and I was walking very slowly up any slight hills, struggling to get enough air in and with no energy to pick up the pace.
Our goal was Cherry Ceek camp ground but I decided to stop at the Pinos Altos RV park to catch up on hydration and try to get some recovery in. Wendy the host was very kind and offered me bottles of water - I must have looked bad! - and later came to the cabin with more water to check I was OK!.

My recovery programme worked well and next morning it was easy to pack and leave and catch up with Karo at Cherry Creek.
Today's ride: 61 km (38 miles)
Total: 249 km (155 miles)
