Valle Tio Vinces - Pie Town
An easy cruise to Pie Town, with hints my bike legs are coming back!
We arrived into Pie Town in time for a late lunch at The Gathering Place. We had planned to stay at Toaster House, a hiker / biker hostel, but it was pretty busy so we went to the RV Park to see if they had space for tents.
They didn't, but they did offer a hot shower, laundry, and free Wi-Fi at the communal fire pit, an offer we gratefully accepted.
We hung our washing out to dry and got on with other life admin tasks using the Wi-Fi until the wind got too strong and we took shelter on a couple of chairs in front of an empty cabin.
A dude then drove up and chased us off the chairs, saying it was private and we could sit by the fire pit. He returned a few minutes later to ask us to take down the washing, and that was when Karo noticed the gun strapped to his hip. He returned a third time to point out how generous they were offering free bathrooms, but he felt we were abusing that and we should leave.
So we did!
The gun may have been a factor in that decision.
We camped in the dust of the State Park and had our coldest night yet, mitigated by a hearty breakfast back at The Gathering.
48km, 3 hours riding, 496m ascent, 619m descent, 15.51kin are speed!
Today's ride: 48 km (30 miles)
Total: 535 km (332 miles)
