Oak Creek - Steamboat Springs
We linked back to the route by riding around the lake at Stagecoach State Park. It was a lovely start to the day.
The rest of the ride into Steamboat springs was through very green countryside, with several horse farms. We'd planned to do a quick shop, get Karo's chain checked and maybe replaced, and head up to a lake to camp.
While we were in the bike shop the thunder, lightening and serious downpour started. Not conditions to be riding in, much less camping in.
We quickly found a sensibly priced hotel (not easy in this town) and adjusted our plan to fit the weather.
Another night with a bed and a hot shower, somehow we will cope!
