Mount Sarrail CG - Spray Lakes West CG

Mud Lake - from Dust Road!

Various connecting bike trails lead out of the Kananakis Lakes area and onto the Smith Dorrien / Spray Lakes Trail. This was a 4 lane, unpaved road with very fine dust.

Drivers on the way to various trail heads and picnic spots drove as though it was paved. This must have been tricky for them, as in the dust cloud of the car ahead, they would not have been able to see the road.

I sucked dust for 50k.

After Bustall Pass trailhead the traffic volume dropped significantly, and the final distance to West Spray Lake CG was pleasant.

At the CG I was going to use the hiker / biker CG but it was an open gravel car park.

Apparently hiker / biker tents don't need shelter from wind or sun

For the same price (C$31), I bought a site in the main CG

A proper site, all for me! (not sure how they get pegs into this ground, so just had an afternoon nap to hold the tent down then added the rocks!)
