Exchanging pedalling for paddeling: Day 47 - rest days - kayaking in Georgian  Bay

This is classic Canadiana. We feel like we are in a Tom Thompson painting right now.

Nice relaxed, slow, start to the day. Great breakfast and then Martin and Claude set off in an easterly direction. We got ourselves organized (Brent is talking to Troy as I write and he just described our start as a 'bit of a gong show', matter of perspective I guess!) and drove off to Killarney on the shores of Georgian bay. We were on the water by about 3:30 and we paddled out to West Fox island.

This place is amazingly beautiful.

Technology is quite amazing too. There is a cell tower on the mainland about 5 km away so we have great signal here. As amazing as the technology is, Mother Nature trumps it.

Don't know what we'll have tomorrow so may not be any posts until Tuesday. Two more days of this and then we're back on the bikes.

Pictures will do the rest of the talking.

Martin and Claude leaving for the last time. Honest.

My birthplace. The Big Nickle! Sorry Echo Bay, your Fiberglas Loonie doesn't hold a candle to this.

Dinner on the boil. About this time I went down to retrieve our beer bag from the rock pool I had stashed it in. Rookie mistake, a wave had washed the bag into the main waters and there were beer cans bobbing away in the current. A quick strip down and swim and all were retrieved!
